This is the minister's page! Each month I hope to offer a Bible verse to inspire you, a prayer and one or two random jottings and items of interest.

'It's good to talk', so the saying goes, but its also good to listen. Any fulfilling and healthy relationship is based on good communication. Our relationship with God is no different. Prayer is one of the ways we communicate with God, and although it sounds easy, it is something we all struggle with. Jesus teaches that talking to God should be as natural as talking to a close and loving Father. Clever words or 'churchy' language are not needed.

Jesus' disciples observed Jesus at prayer and made the request: 'Lord, teach us to pray'. (Luke 11:1) Jesus responded in the words of the Lord's Prayer.

'When you pray......go to your room, close the door and pray to your Father.....do not use alot of meaningless words......your Father already knows what you need before you ask him.' Matthew 6: 6-8 (abridged)

Lord, teach me to pray.
Help me to listen as well as to speak.
Help me to give as well as receive.
Help me to be ready to follow you.
