This is the minister's page! Each month I hope to offer a Bible verse to inspire you, a prayer and one or two random jottings and items of interest.


‘Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.’ (Isaiah 60:1)

These words from Isaiah were spoken long before Jesus came. Now, as then, darkness was all around, in many different forms. But, praise God, the light has come – Jesus Christ – here in the world to share in its darkness and to transform it. In the darkness, even a tiny candle flame can be clearly seen. At Christmas, when the image of light in the darkness is so powerful, we are reminded that small things can make a difference. I pray that we may all know the difference that the light of Christ makes to our lives, and that we can also be beacons of light for those around us, offering hope and encouragement when things are tough.

An Advent Prayer:
Lord God,
In the darkness around us,
May we see the light of your love
Shining in the face of your son Jesus.
May that light bring hope and joy.
